Welcome, My name is Miriam.
Where do I begin. Do people still read the “ABOUT” page?
Like I said, I’m not sure where to begin. I was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Maryland, USA. Influenced by Animated cartoons and illustrated books that were read to me as a child, I began to use my imagination and create my own drawings.
After some art education in elementary school, I quickly learned that art and creativity came very natural to me. I would draw all the time, sketching pictures of animals and fantasy creatures. Over time my knowledge and techniques were improving. However, as time passed and I went through some personal struggles, there were times I would get frustrated and stop creating for a while.
For almost two years I gave up on creating art for myself. This was often because I was told it was a waste of time and that there was no future in it. During my last two years of high school, a very experienced art teacher helped remind me how important art was for me. Today, my art is not only a hobby, but it is my therapy and most importantly my direct unique communication to other people.
